Gord Sellar is not satisfied to rant about a mother making a scene in a restaurant with her friend and her son. Oh no. Gord Sellar will get his rant on with his bad ol’ livid self, but Gord Sellar will tell the story BACKWARDS, just for fun, as he peppers his recollection with reflections on parents, kids, abuse, humiliation, picky eating, I-don’t-care-about-your-tragic-backstory-anymore-level inexcusable behavior, and the Korean Kids Help Phone Line (or the need for one), for those kids whose parents, teachers, or hogwan instructors seem to be going around the bend.
If you don’t know about Gord Sellar, you should: his blog was introduced to me by a linker who wrote, “Gord Sellar doesn’t ALWAYS write about Korea on his blog, but when he does, it’s some of the best writing about Korea on any blog, anywhere.”
Enough foreplay already: Go read it!
How to Mess Up Your Kid, or, Is There a Korean Kids Help Phone?
And the lingering question: IS there anywhere to turn, in Korea, for kids who don’t have anywhere else to go?
