Sunday, December 7th. It snowed, and I was lucky enough to walking around outside when it started.
I swear my camera’s smarter than I am: it set the shutter speed for this light level automatically, and then all I had to do was hold my little point-and-click real still. Turning on the flash setting let me catch a few of the snowflakes dropping through the frame. I love old neighborhoods like this, where it’s like straight streets haven’t been invented yet.

Taken by Dongdaemun Stadium Station, Saturday night.
I also took some video, because without the movement of falling snowflakes, it’s just not the same.
The music is from Vivaldi’s 4 seasons, in what, I think, is the most accurate rendering of falling snow into another medium I’ve ever encountered.
And finally, the most interesting aesthetic moment of the night: this tree’s leaves hadn’t fallen, but instead were frozen, thick and almost rubbery. The sound of the snow hitting the leaves was really cool.
You might have to turn the volume up a bit for this one.
Happy winter, everyone!

I resized the big one — hope that helps. You should have seen how big it was when I first uploaded it!

Nice pics Rob! I’ve always loved the snow (something my Canadian relatives would probably shoot me for saying). Here in Daegu, we had snow all morning last Friday. I actually got up early (*gasp*) to take in the beauty.

Nice vids Rob, and thanks for giving my mediocre integrated graphics card a workout.
