Hey everyone, the surgery went okay. His legs were hurting a bit since some skin was taken off the outsides of them for the surgery.
Lydia has an actual message from Matt that will be posted very soon. It’s too big to fit on the wall…
Amazingly enough the bill has been brought down to only 1.8 million left to pay. It was over 20 million. That’s not including today’s surgery and the major one he still needs. He’s not sure if he can get the surgery done in that hospital, another in Korea, or if he’ll have to try to go back to the US for it yet. The bill does go up roughly about 150,000 a day for room, food, drugs, etc while he doesn’t have any complications.

Hello everyone, This is Matthew’s mother. I just wanted to write and tell everyone who has called Matt, donated,organized and visited my son a very heart felt, thank you. Being at home in the states has been very hard on me. That’s my son and I love him so much. If you are a parent, you know what I mean. Everyone that has been involved in one way or another has given me hope and peace of mind that this world is not that bad. People have come together to help one person in so many ways. I hope that this kindness continues everywhere, when someone needs a helping hand. Again I thank you all!!
So if I’m getting this right, his surgery and stay up to this point is almost all taken care of (1.8 mill short) but he still needs another surgery, and if there are complications on this one, he’s back S.O.L. again. Kudos to the people who have helped out already, and here’s hoping that those of you have have been thinking about it see this post as encouragement to tip the balance and go do it. Help a guy out. You’d want someone to do it for you.

Matt’s balance at Soonchun Hyang has been paid, save about 35 cents! Hooray!
However, he still needs the reconstructive surgery to repair the extensive damage done by the gangrene. We’re still fundraising for the next surgery, and Matt is SOOO grateful to everyone who is helping, either by donating or using their talents to make money to donate.
Kudos to the South Korean Ex-pat Community! You have made such a difference in Matt’s life! It’s reassuring to know that there are still people with great big hearts in this world. Thank you so much for everything you’re doing!
