This site is like an an open-invitation cocktail party, to which everyone is invited and encouraged to mingle, converse, and exchange ideas. But even a cocktail party has rules. So, just as you would at a real social mixer, please be polite and respectful. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but no one should be allowed to ruin the party for the other guests.
Criticism, disagreement, and debate is fine. But ad hominem attacks, profanity-laden insults, or derogatory remarks about race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, appearance, or anything else out of reasonable bounds will be met with summary deletion of the offending comment/s. After a warning and a repeat offense, the admin will ban that user permanently and completely.
Most of you will never have to worry about this, since the majority of readers out there are reasonable people. This is just a clear warning to those who need to be warned — this site has zero tolerance for trolling and flaming. We’re not going to feed trolls — we simply delete them. So, if that’s your cup of tea, please look for your kicks elsewhere.
For the rest of us, we will foster and protect an environment that encourages making real comments, asking questions, and giving each other the benefit of the doubt. This site is for you. To that end, we will have several administrators playing the role of comment police, and they will enforce the rules vigorously.
