Tony (Jumping the Asymptote) is a lecturer in the English education department at a Korean university out in the far reaches of the provinces. He also has some training in comparative cultural analysis and brings that to bear for your reading pleasure, exploring differences and similarities between Korean and Western culture. Mark Gardner is our active duty US Army contributor, and adds the
perspective of a typical USFK servicemember.  Mark has spent over seven
years total in USFK (non-consecutive) spanning from 1992-2008.  He has been
stationed at Camp Hovey (Dongducheon), Camp Sears (East Uijeongbu), Camp Red Cloud (West Uijeongbu), and Yongsan (Seoul).  Mark’s Korean wife and daughter currently live in Uijeongbu, while he is currently institutionalized in Kansas for psychiatric issues revealed in Iraq.  His largely defunct blog may be found at http://x85130c4.spaces.live.comRead Mark’s posts at The Hub of Sparkle.

Nathan Schwartzman, germinator of Korea Beat, spent two years in Korea as an EFL teacher and has spent over four years as a learner of Korean. He’s been interviewed by the East Windup Chronicle, Korea Herald, and the Seoul Economic Daily, is a forums and wiki administrator at Galbijim and used to be the leader of the Seoul Vegetarian Club. He once dropped out of law school so he could come back to Korea, but law school now has its claws back in him.  Nathan writes for Korea Beat, and posts in the Galbijim forums as Hater Depot.

Paul Matthews (Paul Ajosshi) is an often bearded British thespian who has spent the last eight years stumbling around Korea sometimes dressed as a dragon. He is a full time member of Latt Children’s Theatre and an occasional member of Mokwha Repertory Company.
